Paul helps organizations pragmatically improve their program and project environment for achievement of strategic goals. 

Paul's 30-plus years of business experience encompasses project and program management, staff and line management, and consulting. His multiple industry experience seasons his objective approach to solution building.

His consulting work for the past 20 years has emphasized sound enterprise project management, in harmony with other business processes, as critical for delivering strategic goals. Paul is strong in enterprise project effectiveness and improvement. Clients benefit from his expertise in portfolio management, executive and project team effectiveness, program and project offices, and related mentoring.

Prior to his consulting experience, Paul was the Director of Project Development for a top-five national environmental engineering consulting company, where he was responsible for continuous improvement of operations.  Before that, he was an account manager for Battelle Laboratories, an international scientific and technical R&D firm, where he facilitated projects for 25 major US corporations in their quest for technology advances. He also was a member of the internal team that developed management information processes major government projects in the early 1980s.  Before joining Battelle, he was a Senior Administrative and Professional staff member managing multi-year projects for a major state university’s national educational management R&D center.

Paul is an active member of the Project Management Institute (PMI), recently serving as Deputy Program Manager for the brand new Program and Portfolio Management Standards. PMI named him a Distinguished Contributor to the profession and PMI in 2006. He holds PMP designation continuously since 1994, and is a graduate of the PMI Leadership Institute Master Class. He was a four-term member of PMI’s Research Member Advisory Group. Currently, he is on the PMI Standards Program Consensus Body, which does a final vote on all new standards prior to publication.  Paul is also a member of the Product Development and Management Association (PDMA).

He has several presentations and papers to his credit on various topics in portfolio and project management. He served as subject matter expert for the 2004 edition of The Complete Project Management Office Handbook, ESI-Auerbach Publications.
