These sessions emphasize developing and improving project & program management as an organizational core competency. The goal of this workshop is to help the organization to achieve a better understanding of the advantages and disadvantages of project-based organizations and to facilitate the implementation. Designing and Supporting Effective Project Based Organizations is a rapid-pace presentation geared for time-constrained executives and senior managers. The session is also appropriate for mid-level change agents with objectives of organizational development to improve cycle time, customer satisfaction, and product innovation. This session is not a nuts-and-bolts training session on project management execution. Workshop Contents Module I - Organizational Performance & Financial Impact This module provides specific data and benchmarks on project and program performance. Yu will be provided with opportunity to discuss the benefits of PM to your business model and consider the business and organizational environment barriers. Module II - Linkage and Alignment (Doing the Right Things Right) Integration expertise is as important as technical expertise. This module describes practices and strategies for managing the portfolios of projects, and synchronizing the development pipeline. This module describes the use of Knowledge Management principles to guide decision making and operational execution. Module III - Creating Leverage Executive time is scarce, but executive influence is far reaching. This module describes high-leverage actions on the part of individuals and executive teams to develop effective cultures that assure high performing portfolios of projects. Module IV - Making the Transition Discuss the barriers to and strategies for leading the organization through the process of building capability in project and program management. You will examine organizational development issues pertinent to fine-tuning existing project management practices, and migrating from traditional functional organizations to a high-performance project environment. |
