Program/Project Assessment Experience
A Fortune 50 client was having
problems with a multi-site national project
valued at $6MM. Fragmentation of communications and absence of a baseline
plan, among other issues were causing client dissatisfaction with project
management. Catalyst diagnosed project performance issues and
assisted the client in developing remedial actions that established a viable
framework for the sound management of the project and boosted client
confidence.
For a high-tech electronics
manufacturer, we conducted a requirements walkthrough of a new product
development project. We assessed the marketing vision of the project and
the linking of the "voice of the customer" to specific hardware and
software performance specifications.
Catalyst conducted an assessment of project management
maturity levels in a Fortune 50 company's Manufacturing and Development
facilities in the US. We made recommendations for performance improvements in
current project management deployment efforts as well as for the use of the
maturity diagnostic throughout the company worldwide.
For a large furniture
manufacturer, we conducted a risk clinic for Y2K issues.
We helped the program team determine if there were unrecognized risks, developed
a measurement approach, and helped the team develop a program exit/close out
criteria.
For a worldwide financial
services firm, we conducted a risk clinic for the corporate telecommunications
project as part of the contingency planning for Y2K. We helped the program team determine if there were unrecognized
risks, document risks, extend its risk response planning approach, and helped
the team develop a program exit/close out criteria.
For a large pharmaceutical firm, we
assessed opportunities for improving the planning of clinical trials. We
did this by interviewing a broad cross-section of people and then worked with
management to develop an improvement map.
